Cooper Spur dayhike, Mount Hood, Oregon. Myself and a new CouchSurfing friend reached the end of the established trail in exactly three hours from Cloud Cap trailhead, then proceeded far enough up the glacier for me to say we were at 9,000 feet. It took us 1.5 hours to retrace our steps down the volcano. 

I have a sun-burn on just the left side of my face and my left arm, and a minor tan on my right side, since it took three hours to climb with the sun to our left, and only 1.5 to descend.
